LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. -- Bagnell Dam operators opened 11 floodgates at 11 a.m. today due to heavy rain. Currently, 11 floodgates remain open. The Osage River is expected to rise three feet depending upon water flow and rainfall.

Ameren originally intended to open floodgates this morning at 7:30 a.m., but delayed the action due to actions of emergency responders downstream conducting rescue operations. The rescue operations were completed at 11 a.m.

Bagnell Dam is currently discharging more than 47,000 cubic feet per second of water into the Osage River.

Ameren Missouri suggests residents downstream take precautions to protect personal property in the flood zone.
