MILLER COUNTY, Mo. — Work will shut down lanes and result in head-to-head traffic on Highway 54 this spring.
The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission approved a contract to improve U.S. Route 54 in Miller County during its recent meeting in Jefferson City.
The contract awarded to Magruder Paving of Camdenton will include three projects:
- Rehabilitation of the deck on the eastbound Little Gravois Creek Bridge, east of Lake Ozark.
- Resurfacing of the eastbound lanes between the Osage River and the Cole County line.
- Resurfacing of the westbound lanes between Eldon and the Osage River.
The contractor submitted the lowest bid of $6,404,388.
Work on the bridge is expected to begin in mid-March and result in head-to-head traffic on Route 54. Completion is expected by Memorial Day weekend. The resurfacing job will begin in late spring and should be complete by early November.
