LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. — A child fell from a pontoon, but was uninjured, when the boat crossed the wake left by a cruiser, Sunday afternoon on the Lake.
According to the MSHP report, 64-year-old Mardell Nester-Peavy was driving a Landau pontoon and attempted to cross the wake of a Carver cruiser, around the 6.5 Mile Marker of the Gravois Arm. At the peak of the wave, water crashed over the bow and seven-year-old Hannah Wrobleski fell overboard. The highway patrol did not say how close the pontoon was to the cruiser when it crossed the wake.
The pontoon sustained moderate damage, but was driven from the scene. Wrobleski was wearing a life jacket, and the MSHP said she was uninjured by the incident.
