On Lake of the Ozarks you can find it all — quiet, peaceful coves and serene shoreline, along with plenty of busy, action-packed spots. For dock owners in the most popular coves and on the main channel, another busy summer has been a reminder of just how rough Lake of the Ozarks can get... and why having a boat lift built to handle it matters.
For more than 40 years, Econo Lift has been a familiar name at the Lake of the Ozarks — a three-generation family business deeply invested in the community. The company’s SURGE Rough Water Series is designed specifically to meet the demands of the Lake’s busiest areas.
Available in 8,000 lb and 12,000 lb lifting capacities, the SURGE Rough Water Series is built to handle rough water while keeping boats safe. Key enhancements include double arm bushings for strength and stability, wider frames for balance, a V-shaped rear design that reduces wave impact and stress, and taller tanks for added buoyancy.

“Our new tall tanks are just better because more of the boat gets out of the water,” Econo Lift’s Vice President of Sales Kyle Robinson said.
Robinson says for Econo Lift, protecting boats goes hand in hand with protecting customers.
“We really pride ourselves on customer service,” Robinson stated. “For us, it’s our number one thing. If you buy a lift from us, we are tied to you.”
Econo Lift’s Marketing Specialist, Megan Baldridge, who is also Robinson’s sister, echoed that sentiment. “We go above and beyond. One thing our customers can count on is that we will answer the phone when they call.”
Behind that statement is a commitment to being there for customers long after the sale is complete.
“Sometimes stuff happens, but if we make a mistake, we will get you happy. We will figure something out so you are happy by the time we are done,” Robinson said. “One thing that stays with me that I got from my Dad is to treat others the way you want to be treated at the end of the day, and that is how we operate.”
Founded in 1984, Econo Lift has grown from a small family operation into a 30-employee company with more than 60 dealers nationwide and a dedicated shipping department. Yet the company remains hands-on.
“We only make promises we can keep. We do not contract out labor. The same people that put the lift in will be there to repair it or service it,” Robinson added.
“We work a lot with the older population, who have second homes at the Lake, and we always take care of our people,” Baldridge said. “One thing that I find heartbreaking is we hear a lot of stories of other companies selling lifts but have no follow through. They install the lift and the customer never hears from them again, even if they need help with it. We will always do what we can to help.”
After another busy boating season at Lake of the Ozarks, dock owners know what their lifts are up against. For Econo Lift, meeting that challenge means building a durable product and standing behind it long after installation.
