MORGAN COUNTY, Mo. — Two people from Lebanon, Mo., were hospitalized after a single-vehicle crash on Highway 135 Thursday afternoon.
Zachary Johnson, 33, was driving a 2001 Ford Ranger around 3:15 p.m., Oct. 24, when he reportedly crossed the center or the roadway and overcorrected twice before overturning at Westwood Dr, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Johnson sustained moderate injuries, while his occupant, 54-year-old Lorilee Gutierrez, was seriously hurt. MU Air transported her to University Hospital in Columbia, and Johnson followed in an ambulance. Neither of them were reportedly wearing a seatbelt.
The MSHP also arrested Johnson, who faces two potential charges:
- Driving while suspended (2nd offense)
- Failure to drive on right half of the roadway (sufficient width), resulting in an accident
