LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. — Four students from the Criminal Justice program of Columbia College and the Collision Repair and Marine Technology programs of Lake Career and Technical Center recently received scholarships from the Newcomers/Longtimers organization.
Scholarships were awarded to Chris Twitchell, a senior in the Criminal Justice program of Columbia College; Jeramey D. Burton, Lake Career and Technical Center Collision Repair Technology program; and Kenton A. Bressie and Blake M. Clayton, Marine Technology program. The four recipients were presented with scholarship awards during the Dec. 19 Newcomers/Longtimers Luncheon held at Osage National Golf Resort.
The President of Newcomers/Longtimers selects secondary educational institutions, trade and technical schools each year to receive scholarship funds from its annual Homes Tour proceeds. The recipients are chosen from students recommended by the schools. The students then complete an application and go through an interview process with the N/L Scholarship Committee.
Members of the Scholarship Committee are Chair, M. Jean Andrew and members Janell Bednara, Carlene Chubbuck, Terri Hall, Deirdre O’Donnell and Ruth Ann Yarbrough.
The Newcomers/Longtimers 20th Annual Home Tour will be held on Saturday, May 17th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, visit www.newcomerslongtimers.com.
