Papa Chubby’s! Lake Of The Ozarks Chicago-Style Pizza Hotspot Is Expanding Its Lakeside Resort

Chicago-style pizza and hotdogs on Lake of the Ozarks? Boaters can find the best of the Windy City at Papa Chubby’s Lakeside Resort. With their lakeside restaurant, rental cabins, and an RV resort at the 26 Mile Marker (Sunrise Beach by land), Papa Chubby’s — opened in 2012 — has become a favorite spot to eat and stay on Lake of the Ozarks. It’s all about the delicious food, quiet vibe, and provided amenities at their vacation cabins and RV spots.

“We're really known for our Chicago-style menu items, and we’ve just added new items to the menu this year including slow-roasted prime rib on Sundays,” said Landon Hall, general manager of Papa Chubby’s. “But we've got everything from tacos to a grilled chicken sandwich, chicken salad, ribeye and much more.”

Tucked in the back of Crabtree Cove — across the main channel from Margaritaville — Papa Chubby’s is accessible by water, with their public docks available right in front of the restaurant. So if you’re craving Chicago-style pizza after a day on the water, Papa Chubby’s has you covered.

As a resort, Papa Chubby’s boasts 54 RV hookups tucked away in an idyllic Lake of the Ozarks woodland: 48 are just a stone’s throw from the lakefront, with 6 spots right along the shoreline. The resort’s 5 vacation cabins all feature a full kitchen, two bedrooms with queen beds, a loft with queen bed, and a front porch with a barbecue grill. Each cabin comfortably sleeps six people.

“It’s a really beautiful place to stay at the Lake, very quiet and serene at the RV spots and the cabins,” Hall said.

The cabins and RV spots are just steps from the restaurant so there is no need to drive around in search of a place to eat after a day on the Lake. Plus, Papa Chubby’s has live music every weekend through the summer season.

When you’re staying at Papa Chubby’s, it’s hard to justify eating anywhere else! “The restaurant is great for our RV customers,” Hall said. “Half of our parking lot on weekends is typically filled with golf carts and side-by-sides, it’s just really convenient.”

These cabins and RV spots are in such high demand, development is under way to expand Papa Chubby’s even further! The new spots will include all the amenities as the previous spots as well as being fully paved. When the new spots are complete, all the pads will be upgraded from gravel to pavement, and many other amenities will be added.

“We’re hoping to start laying pavement in the fall,” Hall said, noting as with all construction projects, this one will be weather-dependent. “We are all very excited to have new RV spots to offer as soon as possible,” he said.

The expanded RV resort will offer even more opportunities for vacationers to enjoy the Papa Chubby’s Lakeside Resort experience.

“We just have a real neighborhood feel,” Hall said. “We’re a hangout spot for locals and RV renters, and we’re very accommodating to tourists. We love being part of what the Lake has to offer to out-of-town visitors.”
