Randy Knowlton Larsen Obituary

Randy K. Larsen, age 77, of Camdenton, Missouri, passed away on October 20, 2026, in Osage Beach, Missouri, leaving behind a lifetime of memories, music, laughter, and love that will be cherished by all who knew him.

Randy was born on August 2, 1949, in Atlantic, Iowa, to Sidney and Beth (Knowlton) Larsen. Throughout his life, Randy had a way of keeping busy, making friends wherever he went, and filling his days with the people and activities he loved most.

On September 8, 1972, Randy married the love of his life, Anita Pinkelman, in St. James, Nebraska. Their marriage was built on love, companionship, and a lifetime of shared adventures. For 54 wonderful years, they stood by each other’s side, creating countless memories together. Anita was Randy’s partner in life and his greatest love, and their time together was a beautiful testament to a lasting and devoted marriage.

Music was one of Randy’s greatest passions. He loved playing his guitar and sharing his love of music with others. Randy was a member of the band The Forte’s, which was nominated for the Iowa Rock ’n’ Roll Hall of Fame in 2005 and 2007, a recognition of the music and memories they created along the way. Whether he was playing music, visiting with friends, or simply enjoying a good conversation, Randy had a gift for bringing people together.

A true people person, Randy was outgoing, sociable, and always ready to strike up a conversation. His career in sales suited his friendly nature and his ability to connect with others. He was happiest when he had something to do, someone to talk to, or a new memory to make.

Randy also loved life on the water. Boating and camping along the Missouri river and at the Lake of the Ozarks with Anita were among his favorite ways to spend time, enjoying the outdoors and the simple pleasures of being together. His beloved dogs held a special place in his heart, too, adding even more love and companionship to his life.

Randy lived life in his own way, with a love for music, a spirit that kept him moving, and a heart that treasured family, friends, and the moments that made life meaningful. He will be deeply missed by those who loved him, but the memories he leaves behind will continue to bring smiles, comfort, and warmth for years to come.

Randy is survived by his loving wife, Anita Larsen; Anita’s brothers and sisters, Norman Pinkelman (Penny), Diane Christensen, Karen Lammers (Ron), and Harvey Pinkelman (Ann); Cousin Dean Way; several nieces and nephews; and a host of dear friends whose lives were made brighter by knowing him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Beth Larsen; his father and mother in law Alphons and Verna Pinkelman; and his brother-in-law, Daniel Pinkelman; and several uncles and aunts.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to an Alzheimer’s organization in Randy’s memory.

Celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 30, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Hedges-Scott-Millard Funeral Home in Camdenton.
