UNIVERSITY CITY • A man and woman were both found dead in a hot tub Saturday night at The Gatesworth senior living center, University City police said.

The deaths were not considered suspicious and there weren't signs of any trauma, though autopsy results were pending, police said. University City Lt. Frederick Lemons said they were found about 7:20 p.m. and were wearing swimsuits at the time.

Lemons released no other details about what happened.

The St. Louis County Medical Examiner's office identified the victims as Dan Kohl, 87, and Fran Sontag, 78. Their causes of death had not yet been determined Tuesday.

An executive with the center did not want to comment on the incident, citing privacy concerns and the fact the incident was not considered suspicious.

The Gatesworth is at One McKnight Place, near Interstate 170 and Delmar Boulevard in University City.
