ROCKY MOUNT, Mo. — Wonderland Camp recently presented Lake Regional Health System with a certificate of thanks for supporting the camp’s mission and being the camp’s health care provider of choice.

“Wonderland Camp provides a fun, educational camp experience for children, teenagers and adults who have disabilities,” said Jason Hynson, the camp’s executive director. “Lake Regional is a strong supporter of our mission, and we are thankful for their clinics, physicians and staff, who go out of their way to support campers with ongoing medical needs.”

Lake Regional’s support for Wonderland Camp has taken various forms, including camper appointments, a Lake Regional physician volunteering for the camp’s medical advisory board, and donated medical equipment and supplies.

“The campers want to be at the best recreational lake in the country,” Hynson says. “Lake Regional gives us confidence that we can support any medical need the camper may have. We appreciate their partnership.”

Lake Regional Hospital is accredited by The Joint Commission and is a three-time recipient of the Missouri Quality Award. The Emergency Department is a state-designated Level III Trauma Center and cares for nearly 35,000 patients annually. Lake Regional Health System also operates seven primary care clinics, 19 specialty clinics and four pharmacies in the lake area.

Wonderland Camp is in its 47th year of bringing the joy of camping to individuals with disabilities. For 12 weeks each summer and on weekends in the spring and fall, more than 1,050 people come to Wonderland Camp for what most of them say is their favorite week of the year. Run by a small, year-round executive staff and dedicated board of directors, Wonderland Camp, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit charitable organization, is interested in meaningful partnerships with organizations, businesses and individuals who want to help make a difference.
