OSAGE BEACH, Mo. — Adventure sets sail this summer as Dragon Lake Productions presents the world premiere of Captain Scalawag's Pirate Adventure, Trial of the Tide, an original, family-friendly musical opening next week at Main Street Music Hall in Osage Beach.
Created by acclaimed local storyteller and performer Tim Williams, Trial of the Tide tells the tale of two rival pirate crews locked in a battle over a legendary treasure map. Along the way, audiences will encounter daring sword fights, laugh-out-loud comedy, heartfelt romance, unforgettable original music, and an exciting twist that makes every performance unique.
Unlike a traditional musical, the audience becomes part of the adventure as the "Council of the Seas," helping determine which pirate crew proves itself worthy of victory. It's an interactive theatrical experience designed for audiences of all ages.
Williams, creator of the beloved holiday favorite Captain Scalawag's Enchanted Christmas Carol and numerous pirate adventures enjoyed by Lake-area audiences for decades, continues his tradition of original storytelling with a production filled with larger-than-life characters, memorable songs, and high-energy entertainment.
"This is the kind of show families can experience together," said Dragon Lake Productions. "It's full of action, humor, music, heart, and audience participation. We wanted to create something completely original that visitors and local residents alike can't see anywhere else."
Trial of the Tide opens Wednesday, July 8, with performances continuing throughout July at Main Street Music Hall, 1048 Main Street in Osage Beach.
