The team at Your Life Design knows how to transform a space. Their unique vision and surprisingly good communication (think: literal daily progress photos uploaded to your project portal) have been landing them a string of success-stories at Lake of the Ozarks.
In this showcase, we talk about the transformation of an outdated kitchen into a cottage sourdough bakery. And there were cookies.

“I need to update this space in my home, but I need it to stay on-budget, be finished on time, and I don’t like chaos.”
This is the ideal profile for a future happy customer at Your Life Design, a boutique design/build/remodeling company in the Lake of the Ozarks area. The team at Your Life Design boasts a massive portfolio of strikingly beautiful home remodel projects, and the word is getting out.
“I love taking a space that isn’t working for a family anymore and turning it into something beautiful that actually fits how they live every day,” said Jenny Beede, who owns and leads the team at Your Life Design.
Jenny works with her project coordination team members Chasiti and Lexi to keep projects and bids moving at their base of operations. They manage operations, proposals, scheduling, and client communication while three skilled installation crews operate at job sites, each with their own lead foreman who manages the day-to-day site operations.
“We’re a women-led team, and I think that really shapes how we approach our projects,” Jenny said. “Communication, organization, and making sure our clients feel comfortable and taken care of every step of the way is a huge priority for us.”
The result is uncommonly excellent coordination and quality.

Jenny’s team has an eye for making things look good. In fact, when they ran a remodel company years ago in Colorado, she was featured on the reality TV show “Sell That House.”

Your Life Design walks clients through the design process, but they don’t just handle the design. They handle the whole build. Talk to Jenny and her operations team and you’ll hear certain words over and over: systems, organization, processes, standards. It turns out, Your Life Design are masters not only at design, but at project execution.
“Sometimes because ‘Design’ is in our name, people don't realize we are the full package,” Jenny said. “We are general contractors. We will help you design your remodel, and then we will actually do it all!” And the way the YLD team runs a project — from design to completion — is what has created a string of happy customers.
Budget
“In our initial proposal, we line item everything,” Chasiti explained. “Everything is written down in detail. Specific products are picked out. We’re not just saying, ‘Okay here’s a budget for appliances.’ We’re asking, ‘Okay are these the appliances you want? This is what it will cost. If you want to change it, this is what it will cost.’”
That kind of precision is… well, not exactly standard in remodeling work. Too often, contractors bid based on allowances or broad assumptions, and that means cost creep later. “Whenever we give you a proposal, your price is your price,” Chasiti emphasized. “Unless you add something on, or when we tear out a wall it reveals some major hidden structural issue — that’s the only time anything is going to change.”
It’s that strict adherence to budget that helps keep homeowners not only sane through the project but downright happy with the final result.
Daily Logs & Customer Communication
Many of Your Life Design’s clients don’t live here full-time; they contract Jenny’s team to remodel their lake house when no one will be there. In those cases especially, Jenny says clients love the company’s obsession with keeping them informed on progress.
The project management tool utilized by Your Life Design gives clients access to their own digital project page, where contractors post daily logs and progress photos every single day they’re on the job.
“People really appreciate that we have so much communication during the project,” Jenny noted. She pointed out homeowners can log in to the portal anytime to see progress photos and updates. They can even communicate directly to the Your Life Design team through the project portal.
Managing a home remodel—whether it’s your full-time residence or a vacation property—can be... a lot. Your Life Design makes the process amazing from start to finish. They deliver stunning, high-end renovations and interior design—without the stress.

Happy Clients
The careful processes, attention to detail, and high-level of process precision have attracted a certain kind of client that looks for those things, Jenny said. Often they find themselves working for engineers and architects, who love knowing the project is moving along according to a pre-set plan. However, a recent happy customer includes Joni, who runs a cottage sourdough bakery out of her home. (See Joni’s kitchen transformation, in our feature video below.) The common denominator really, Jenny says, is they like working with people they get along with.
“This may be really cheesy… but we are really good at making friends with our clients,” Jenny said. “We actually do care about our clients, like we want to make sure that they’re taken care of. Because our our goal is long-term relationships with people.”
