KAISER, Mo. — A video chat with the International Space Station (ISS) will connect School of the Osage students with alumnus and astronaut Colonel Michael Hopkins.

Hopkins graduated from School of the Osage in 1987. On Sept. 25, 2013, he was launched into space with two other crew members to join Expedition 37 at the space station. School of the Osage celebrated the launch with an assembly that day.

Hopkins gained national attention in December when he helped repair a broken cooling pump on the ISS.

Hopkins’ video chat with School of the Osage High School will be on Friday, Feb. 28. During the chat, he will give an update on his mission.
