LAURIE, Mo. — Disappointed moviegoers on the westside of the Lake of the Ozarks found a closed sign Monday, Sept. 24 at the Lake West Cinema - B&B Movie Theater on Route O in Laurie. The owner is 94 years young and he said it was time for him to retire.
The theater is one of only two theaters at the Lake of the Ozarks. The other—the Marcus Theater at the Eagles Landing—is located on the east side of the Lake in Lake Ozark.
On the upside, the property could be an interesting business opportunity for the right entrepreneur. The property is for sale, priced at $795,000 and includes the movie theater, a restaurant, a laundromat, a photo studio, office space and a gift/coffee shop with coffee equipment. The total building space is 28,035 sq. ft. and it sits on 10.83 manicured acres, across from the Indian Rock Golf Course. The restaurant and laundromat are already leased and open for business.Â
