OSAGE BEACH, Mo. — Lake Regional Health System announces Tilly Schmidt, APRN, WHNP-BC, joined Lake Regional Obstetrics and Gynecology on Feb. 1. Schmidt will work closely with Mona Afrassiab, D.O., FACOG; Loraine Nolla, M.D., FACOG; and Becky Watson, M.D., FACOG, to offer well-woman exams, screenings and other services.
“We’re excited to have Tilly join our OB-GYN team,” said Michael Burcham, vice president of Lake Regional Physician Practices. “There is growing demand for women’s health services in the lake area, and she will help us ensure we meet that demand.”
Schmidt comes to Lake Regional from Truman Medical Center – Hospital Hill in Kansas City, Mo., where she served as a labor and delivery nurse. She earned her Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and is currently enrolled in the university’s Master’s of Science in Nursing–Doctor of Nursing Practice program.
Schmidt always knew she would someday enter the medical profession.
“As a kid, I loved playing CPR on my teddy bears in the backseat when we went on family road trips,” she said. “I chose women’s health because I enjoy helping and educating women during all stages of their lives. It’s important for all women to have a provider who listens and hears their concerns.”
Originally from a small farm town in Iowa, Schmidt chose Lake Regional because she saw an opportunity to use all of her skills here.
“Lake Regional has a good variety of services, from well-woman exams to prenatal care to helping women with gynecological problems,” she said.
In her free time, Schmidt enjoys running and spending time with family and friends. She also likes to travel and has taken two trips to the Philippines to volunteer as a woman’s health nurse.
Lake Regional Obstetrics and Gynecology is located in Suite 201 of the Lake Regional Medical Office Building, which is connected to the hospital. To schedule an appointment, call 573-302-2764. To view Schmidt’s bio, visit www.lakeregional.com/physicians.
