VERSAILLES, Mo. — Firefighters battled a structure fire Friday night on Great Oaks Road, which thankfully involved no injuries to civilians or crew members.

The Fortuna Fire Protection District was dispatched at 8:48 p.m., Feb. 13, for a fully involved 20-by-20 storage building. Firefighters were on scene for about an hour with three engines, one tanker, and 12 personnel.

Mutual aid from Versailles and Tipton were cancelled en route.

According to Fortuna FPD Captain Rick Zimmerman, the building was considered a total loss. A heat lamp located inside is the suspected cause of the blaze.
