Firefighter Training At Westlake Aquatic Center

LAURIE, Mo. — At the Westlake Aquatic Center pool at the Laurie Fairgrounds, senior citizens keep arthritic limbs limber and kids learn to swim. But the pool is an asset for local firefighters too.

Recently, Sunrise Beach Fire Protection District instructor Daniel Zacher worked with firefighters Tim Wester, Matt Mira, Brandon Ham, Sean Robinson, and Blake Miller at the pool. Zacher directed training in open surface water rescue practice techniques, helping the firefighters hone their skills.

The Westlake Aquatic Center is located in the Laurie Fairgrounds Park, at 134 N. Fairgrounds Road, Laurie, Mo.
