CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo. — A late-night chase on Highway 7 ended with a crash into a tree, the Camden County Sheriff’s Department reports.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies were called to assist the Missouri State Highway Patrol in pursuing a silver Chevy Malibu with Georgia license plates.

But the responding deputy was never involved in the chase, since the Malibu crashed into a tree, just inside Pulaski County jurisdiction. The suspect was secured in the deputy’s vehicle while he was checked out by medical personnel, and was then taken into custody by Waynesville Police.
