LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. — It's the first big boating weekend at the Lake, and boaters will find gas prices much more friendly to their wallets than this time last year. On average, prices are about $1 per gallon cheaper, compared with Memorial Day 2014.
The cheapest 87 Octane gas this weekend among those marinas surveyed by LakeExpo.com is at Westport Yacht Club, at $2.75/gal.
Ozark Village Resort Marina has the lowest 93 Octane price this week, at $3.42/gal.
The cheapest diesel on the water is at Formula Boats, at $2.63/gal.
MOON & WEATHER
The National Weather Service is calling for a chance of thunderstorms throughout the weekend. But rain likely won't dampen the chances of an outing on the lake: the largest chance of rain comes on Sunday, with Saturday and Monday having only a slight chance of storms.
As long as the clouds hold off, boaters can cruise by moonlight under a quarter-moon that will set just after midnight.
