KAISER, Mo. — Fire destroyed a Kaiser home on Sunday, the second such incident within a week that has been blamed on a home barbeque pit.

The Osage Beach Fire Protection District was called to the fire just before noon on Sunday, and the first arriving units reported the structure was 80 percent involved. Crews brought the fire under control within an hour, but the structure was a complete loss. The fire reportedly began in a barbeque pit underneath a covered patio. The fire protection district reported the homeowner had used the pit earlier that morning and then left the home; a neighbor saw the flames and called the fire department.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

This was the third fire in the Lake area within a one-week span that has resulted in the complete loss of the affected home.
