Boat lifts have a simple job — they lift boats. But getting the most protection and lifespan out of a lift takes more than pushing a button. Without the right setup, maintenance, and know-how, costly mistakes can damage both the lift and the boat it’s meant to protect. That’s why experience matters. From new installations to repairs and routine maintenance, Summerset Boat Lifts helps Lake boat owners protect their investment and keep their lift performing for years to come.

I couldn’t be happier with their exceptional service. They were referred to me by a competing lift company that couldn’t provide a lift due to size constraints…
They went above and beyond by visiting the dealership to measure the boat and even checked with an existing customer who had the same boat on a similar lift getting height when lifted measurement. They gathered all the necessary info to ensure that the lift would fit perfectly under the roof and in the slip.
Two weeks later, the lift was delivered and installed, and everything is perfect. The entire process was smooth and efficient, and their attention to detail was impressive. I am incredibly grateful for their dedication and expertise.

We’ve had a boat lift from Summerset for years. We’ve always received great service but this weekend received the ultimate in care. We found out on Saturday evening that our boat lift was failing. We texted Phil and it was taken care of first thing Sunday morning. That is awesome customer service! Thank you Phil!’

I recently purchased an 8000lb lift from Summerset. I had the pleasure of working directly with the new owner Eric Clark. He was honest and upfront with pricing and expectations. I mentioned that this was my first boat lift so he met me at my dock to show me how to operate the lift. My wife and I really appreciated him taking time out of his busy schedule to show us how to position our boat in the slip and operate the lift. I would recommend Summerset to anyone looking for a quality lift and exceptional service.

Whether in quiet coves or heavy main-channel traffic, one thing is true: the lift doesn’t get a day off. “A lift is constantly moving up and down with the waves. It’s always working,” Summerset owner Eric Clark explained. Summerset offers a “Mega” option lift build that is designed to withstand the most extreme rough water conditions of the Lake of the Ozarks.
Even when a boat never leaves the slip, the lift itself remains under constant stress from water movement, weight, and changing conditions. That is why routine inspections and maintenance are critical, to make sure everything stays tight and works properly.
“If moving parts are neglected or become loose, it can ruin parts which can become expensive to replace,” Clark said. “Maintenance checks save money in the end.”
To keep customers’ lifts in the best condition possible, Summerset offers both general and advanced inspections, checking fittings, hoses, valves, fasteners, and moving parts to ensure everything remains tight and functioning correctly.
Clark gives another tidbit of advice to keep the lift in good shape while also avoiding damage to the dock. “Keep dock builders happy by putting the lift up when you are out on the water to protect the dock. Also, if you leave it down, you will notice more wear and tear on the lift, especially on the moving parts and fasteners,” he explained.
The experts at Summerset know the key to helping their customers is educating them on proper lift operation. Summerset provides orientation for new owners, teaching them how to correctly position and load their boats using guide ropes. “We want customers to feel comfortable enough that loading the boat becomes a one-person job,” Clark stated. “You don’t have to get the whole family out to help get the boat on the lift.”
Proper loading is especially important. If a boat sits too far forward on the lift, the poly tanks can contact the outdrives as the lift rises. Uneven weight distribution can also cause the lift to sit unlevel or off-center. If this happens, Summerset technicians can correct the issue by adjusting torsion clamps and re-leveling the lift.
Clark says Summerset’s U.S.-sourced poly tanks are built to last a lifetime when properly loaded and maintained. Wrapped corner gussets, thicker steel reinforcement, bushings with the most points of contact are all built beyond standard recreational lift demands to reduce wear and increase durability in rough water conditions.
Summerset’s lifts range from personal watercraft models all the way to custom lifts capable of handling up to 72,000 pounds. “Providing boat lifts for 20,000-40,000-pound capacities is becoming commonplace for us,” Clark said.
Lake customers looking for a new lift can simply call Summerset Boat Lifts and provide a little information like the slip width along with the make and model of the boat, and estimates are typically ready within a day or two. Customers can order lifts with custom features and options, but Summerset has revolving inventory on hand of new and used inventory for faster installations.
Start that process today by giving Summerset a call or checking out their Facebook page before summer is in the rear view mirror!
