OSAGE BEACH, Mo. – Four Texas men are in custody after an ATM burglary at the Lake of the Ozarks early Wednesday morning led to a multi-state police chase.

The Osage Beach Police Department responded to Oak Star Bank at 2:32 a.m., Jan. 29, to find the ATM had been busted open using a stolen truck. After reviewing video surveillance, officers determined a Hyundai Tucson was also involved in the theft.

Investigators identified the getaway vehicle bearing a Minnesota license plate through the Flock License Plate Reader System (LPR). It reportedly caught the SUV going through Eldon towards Osage Beach prior to the burglary.

The vehicle was rented to Monique Richardson and was due back to Enterprise Leasing out of Missouri City, Texas, by 1 p.m. on Wednesday.

OBPD detectives started identifying the SUV's potential travel path, and learned it passed another LPR near Pryor, Okla. Agencies in the area were then notified, and officers in Durant attempted to stop the vehicle.

Those in the SUV reportedly fled from the Oklahoma cops, having entered Durant and "traveled through congested roadways and a residential area. During the pursuit, Robert E. Lee Elementary was notified because it was in the path of the suspects' direction of travel and did go on 'lockdown,'" said Durant PD.

Bryan County deputies, Oklahoma Highway Patrol, and local officers chased them and eventually stopped the suspects.

Police said several items were found in the vehicle, including $47,315 in cash, of which $11,440 was stolen from the Oak Star Bank on Osage Beach Pkwy. The subjects were identified as:
