Camdenton Middle School

CAMDENTON, Mo. — Two 13-year-old students at Camdenton Middle School could be charged after allegedly making threats to shoot up the school, on social media.

On March 29, 2026, at approximately 8:15 pm, the Camdenton Police Department says it received reports of messages being posted on a social media site of an individual threatening a shooting at Camdenton Middle School.

Officers immediately began investigating the messages to identify those responsible. The officers were assisted by the social media site and the FBI.

At approximately 11:45 pm, officers had the identity of the two individuals — identified as 13-year-old male students at Camdenton Middle School — who were alleged to be responsible for posting the threats.

Officers contacted the parents of these teens and conducted interviews with both. Police say the teens admitted to chatting on this social media site and one of them admitted to posting the threats against the school. Both stated they had no intent to follow through with the threats.

The case has been referred to the Camden County Juvenile Justice Center for potential charges.
