An arrest has been made in a 36-year-old cold-case murder At Lake Of The Ozarks. Larry Gene Hicks, 78, was taken into custody at 2:36 pm, May 17, in Franklin, LA.

Hicks is accused of bludgeoning to death Diane Lukosius in 1984 in Camdenton, Mo.
In an interview with detectives he allegedly stated it’s “very possible” he assaulted Lukosius. Statements from witnesses made just after the murder indicate he had scratches on his face and blood on his clothes the night of the murder.
The arrest in Louisiana is the first step for the prosecutor's office to get Hicks extradited to Missouri. By the end of July in Louisiana court, Hicks will have the option to either waive extradition or have an extradition hearing.
“The extradition is just a matter of “are you the person the warrant is seeking?” It’s just a matter of that they arrested the right person.” said Camden County Prosecutor Caleb Cunningham.
The prosecutors office asked for a no-bond warrant for Hicks but the judge granted bond of $100,000 with monitoring conditions and Hicks has since posted bond.
The next step after the extradition hearing will be an arraignment hearing, when Hicks will enter his plea and then a preliminary hearing will be scheduled.
“We’re very excited. The sheriff and I are all honored to be a part of this and are looking forward to the rest of the journey,” Cunningham said.
