CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo. — A Kansas City woman was killed Saturday after her golf cart careened off a 60-foot cliff, at a Lake of the Ozarks home near Laurie.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 64-year-old Theresa Grist, of Kansas City, Mo., was backing a 1983 EasyGo golf cart northbound along Flintstone Circle, but the golf cart went off the west side of the road and down a 60-foot embankment. It landed on Bedrock Drive, below the cliff. The incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 23. Grist was flown by Staff for Life helicopter to University Hospital, according to the report.
However, she was pronounced dead at Fitzgibbon Hospital in nearby Marshall, Mo. at 6:28 p.m. The Patrol did not specify whether the helicopter ever landed at University Hospital before Grist was taken to Fitzgibbon Hospital.
