OSAGE BEACH, Mo. — A 55-year-old Kansas woman has died following a motorcycle crash Thursday afternoon on Highway 54 in Osage Beach.

The Osage Beach Police Department confirmed Friday morning that the woman, who was a passenger on one of the motorcycles, died from her injuries. Two other people were also injured in the crash.

The crash happened Sept. 17 near Highway 54 and Key Largo, not far from the Lake of the Ozarks Harley-Davidson. Police say two motorcycles were traveling eastbound in the outside lane when one bike, driven by a 56-year-old Iowa man, slowed abruptly, nearly coming to a stop.

The motorcycle behind him, driven by a 50-year-old Kansas man with the woman as a passenger, moved into the inside lane to avoid a collision. According to police, the Iowa rider then made an abrupt turn across the lane and into the path of the other motorcycle.

The motorcycles collided, ejecting both drivers and the passenger. Police say none of the three were wearing helmets.

All of them were taken to Lake Regional Hospital following the crash. Police have not released the conditions of the two drivers.

Several agencies assisted Osage Beach Police at the scene, including local ambulance and fire districts, the Missouri State Highway Patrol, and Linn Creek Police Department.
