LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. — The Osage Nation has announced another round of donations to Lake area charities and police/fire entities: this time, $95,000 in charitable contributions, bringing its donation total to nearly half a million dollars.

“This latest round of donations reflects the values of the Osage Nation. We are committed to supporting veterans, protecting our land, investing in education for our youth, and ensuring the safety of our community by supporting law enforcement," said Geoffrey Standing Bear, Osage Nation Chief. "We deeply appreciate the enthusiasm and support we have received from the Lake of the Ozarks community as we continue our efforts to return to our ancestral lands and work in partnership to strengthen this special place."

In late-2021, the Osage Nation announced it had purchased land in Lake Ozark with the intent to build a casino there. Since then, it has worked its way through the federal government and could potentially begin construction on the casino and hotel this year.

“The Osage Nation has deep roots in the Lake of the Ozarks. We are committed to being good community partners and supporting local governmental entities and organizations who make this community a great place to call home,” said Kimberly Pearson, CEO of Osage Casinos.

This is the sixth round of charitable donations from the Osage Nation. Organizations receiving support during this round include:

· Camden County Sheriff's Office - $10,000

· Lake Area Helping Hands - $5,000

· Lake Ozark Fire Protection District - $20,000

· Lake Ozark Police Department - $20,000

· Lake Ozark Shriners - $5,000

· Lake Ozark VFW - $5,000

· Miller County Sheriff's Office - $10,000

· Osage Beach Fire Protection District - $10,000
