LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. — The Osage Nation presented its 5th round of donations, totaling $55,000, to eight Lake of the Ozarks organizations on Wednesday.

Representatives from Osage Nation and each charity connected over lunch at Tucker's Shuckers June 19.

Organizations that received support during this most recent round included:

  • Miller County Sheriff; $15,000
  • School of the Osage Foundation; $10,000
  • American Legion Post 229; $5,000
  • Camden County Ag and Youth Enrichment; $5,000
  • Changing Table (Lake Area Diaper Bank); $5,000
  • Citizens Against Domestic Violence; $5,000
  • Heroes Outreach; $5,000
  • Al Whitaker VFW Post 6513; $5,000

Osage Nation's total contributions to the area now total nearly $400,000. Kimberly Pearson, CEO of Osage Casinos, said that a tribe supports each other, and Lake of the Ozarks is part of the tribe.

“We are devoted to giving back to the communities we call home by supporting local organizations. With our ongoing charitable initiatives in the Lake of the Ozarks we are partnering with the community to help strengthen public safety, education, children's services, and support for veterans,” Pearson said in a press release.

Pearson also said Osage Nation will be more present in the area over the next couple of months.

This includes a nationally-recognized ballet July 12-13! The beautiful - and free - production is an artistic expression of the Osage people, Pearson said.

Wahzhazhe: An Osage Ballet will have two performances at the School of the Osage in the Cummings Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. both nights. While the event is open to the public, donations are welcome to support Wonderland Camp.
