LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. — In light of a bankruptcy filing by developer Jeff Tegethoff, the development team for Oasis at Lakeport — a $500 million entertainment complex being constructed at Lake of the Ozarks — has confirmed Tegethoff's removal from the project.
On Wednesday, June 3, the development group issued the following statement to LakeExpo:
We are aware of the bankruptcy filing by Tegethoff Development. We had previously removed Jeff and his affiliated companies as a manager of the Lakeport project legal entities and are currently reviewing all necessary legal steps to remove Tegethoff Development as the developer for the Lakeport project. We are continuing to monitor the situation and exploring our legal rights as it pertains to Tegethoff Development’s conduct.
Backed by experienced leadership and well-capitalized ownership, Oasis is transforming into one of the Midwest’s premier family entertainment destinations. The development team remains fully committed to delivering the approximately $500 million, year-round resort experience, which will include an amusement park, Missouri’s largest indoor water park, Marriott Resort and Conference Center, restaurants, retail and entertainment. Additional rides will continue to be installed throughout the summer as the project progresses toward opening the amusement park, parking garage and boat slips in Spring 2027. The visible construction activity and ongoing investment in the project underscore the team’s confidence in both the long-term vision and successful completion of Oasis Lake of the Ozarks.
Tegethoff filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection for his Tegethoff Development Co., LLC on Monday, June 1 in U.S. bankruptcy court.
LakeExpo has reached out to Tegethoff for comment, but as of this publishing has not received a response.
