Over 300 of the Lake’s business community gathered for the Convention and Visitors Bureau annual dinner on March 11th at Margaritaville. That evening, the Community Foundation of the Lake (CFL) awarded its 2021 grants to 17 local charities who participated in the grant process begun in January.
A total of $31,950 was awarded to the following Lake area charities: Big Brothers Big Sisters, Children’s Learning Center, Child Advocacy Council, Lake Area Industries, Concerns of Police Survivors, Sunrise Beach Little Theatre, Heroes Outreach Program, The Healing Box, Wonderland Camp, Stop Human Trafficking Coalition, Lake of the Ozarks Developmental Center, Camdenton RIII Schools Buddy Packs, Medical Missions for Christ, Lake Arts Council, Food for Morgan County, & Ivy Bend Community Food Pantry.
In addition, CFL was able to award $11,000 to three more charities through another grant opportunity. Central Mo Foster Care & Adopt, Citizens Against Domestic Violence and Kid’s Harbor were each awarded $3,333. Re/Max of the Lake matched with $1,000 to be equally divided amongst the three charities.
CFL President Amy Hernandez stated “We are honored to be a part of the CVB annual dinner and so grateful to our community for their generosity. Without the continued support of funds, these grants would not be possible.”
Since 2009, the Community Foundation of the Lake has awarded more than $500,000 to Lake area charities. For several years the CFL has partnered with the Convention and Visitors Bureau of the Lake to award the grants at the CVB Annual Dinner.
