MarineMax and Wake for Warriors are joining forces again this year to support combat veterans with a day on the water at Lake of the Ozarks, through the annual Wake For Warriors event. And this year Marine Max is taking their support to a whole new level with a can’t-be-beat raffle prize: a restored 1977 Chevy K5 Blazer nicknamed Hank.

For the third summer, MarineMax Lake Ozark is partnering with Wake for Warriors, whose mission is to connect with injured military veterans through the sharing of their passion for wake and water sports. By doing so, they hope to help heal the emotional and psychological wounds of military veterans and their families.

To raise money for the event, MarineMax is raffling the Blazer which was restored by MarineMax team member Kenny Abbett.

Kenny spent over 1,000 hours restoring Hank. He donated his time and expertise in restoring Hank because he has a brother who served in Iraq and was fortunate to come home without any injuries. He felt his family was blessed and wanted to give back to those who weren’t so fortunate.

“Kenny is an incredible person with a huge heart, amazing talent, and a desire to serve others. People like Kenny Abbett are “one in a million” and the backbone of Wake for Warriors,” said Theresa Riley, marketing and events coordinator with MarineMax. “Kenny is a good man, who has graciously donated his time and talent to give back to veterans who have been willing to sacrifice their lives for our country.”
