The Board of Directors of the Osage Beach Fire Protection District has announced that Eddie Nicholson, Division Chief of Fire Prevention Bureau, has successfully completed his Managing Officer Program through the National Fire Academy, Emmitsburg Maryland.
“The Managing Officer program is designed to provide company level Fire/EMS Officers with a broad prospective to today’s Fire/EMS management, leadership, and administration,” according to U.S Fire Administrator Dr. Dennis Onieal. This program provides fire service officers with the expertise they need to develop professionally and to make significant contributions to both their departments and communities.
The Managing Officer program goals are to promote and enhance the profession growth of fire service leadership by preparing the future leaders of the fire service through a combination of education and networking. Participants in this program receive instruction on leadership, community risk reduction, firefighter and community safety training issues, and analytical tools for decision making.
This was a two year program comprised of four courses requiring Chief Nicholson to develop and complete a Capstone project that will directly benefit the Osage Beach District and the community he serves. This Capstone project was evaluated through a formal peer review at the National Fire Academy.
The District congratulated Division Chief Nicholson and thanked him for his dedication to continued education and the public he serves.
