OSAGE BEACH, Mo. – The final numbers have been tallied. Give Ozarks raised $51,714.85 in one day for charities serving Lake of the Ozarks.
Give Ozarks across the region brought in $1,186,794.64 on May 3 for non-profit partners of Community Foundation of the Ozarks.
Lake Area non-profit Kids’ Harbor ranked No. 4 of 220 participating charities by receiving $32,855 from 126 contributors.
Kids’ Harbor participates in Give Lake, a Community Foundation of the Lake event.
Community Foundation of the Lake organized Give Ozarks locally to bring agency partners together, drive awareness, and raise as much money as possible to support 10 causes.
“The generosity around the Lake is truly amazing,” CFL board member Brent Simpson said. “We really did not know what to expect, Give Ozarks is so new to the Lake area. But business sponsors stepped up, volunteers mobilized, and the community gave beyond our expectations.”
The day of the event CFL and 10 charities set up under Central Bank’s tent at Hy-Vee, drawing crowds throughout the day with food, live music and cause awareness. Residents, weekenders and vacationers streamed through, learning about the organizations advocating for children, feeding the hungry, helping the disabled, providing medical services to the poor, teaching children and making Lake of the Ozarks a better place to live.
The event coincided with a 24-hour campaign of online giving.
Sponsors supporting Give Ozarks include Community Foundation of the Lake, Central Trust Company, Central Bank, Hy-Vee, Edward Jones-Tony Reahr, Smart Postal Centers and the LakeExpo.com Charitable Fund.

Give Ozarks received massive media support from LakeExpo.com, LakeTV, Benne Media 92.7 and KS95, KRMS 1150 and 93.5, Lamar Advertising, Lake Media, and MSW Interactive Design.
“The support from the business community and media has been overwhelming,” Simpson said. “Without them the Lake area would have never known about Give Ozarks. The $51,000 raised stays local, supports local programs, and helps local people.”
Donations and grants made during Give Ozarks benefited Kids’ Harbor, Wonderland Camp, Medical Missions For Christ, Children’s Learning Center, Loving Hands Preschool, The National Mother’s Shrine, The Lake Arts Council, Share The Harvest Food Pantry, Food For Morgan County, and Forget-Me-Not Horse Rescue.
Wonderland Camp Director Jason Hynson spent all day May 3 at Give Ozarks at Hy-Vee building awareness. Since 1969, Wonderland Camp has provided a fun, educational summer camp experience for children and adults with disabilities.
All the organizations are agency partners of Community Foundation of the Lake.
