Greg Olson won the Top Gun trophy at the 24th Annual Lake of the Ozarks Shootout held Saturday and Sunday at Lake of the Ozarks. Olson ran 192 miles per hour in Fatal Attraction, an Eliminator Boats 33 Daytona with twin 1,800-hp engines and an open canopy.

“Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be a Top Gun,” Olson said Sunday while accepting the coveted trophy at Captain Ron’s in Sunrise Beach. After going out on top in the Shootout and having won King of the Desert at Lake Havasu, Olson says he is retiring from boat racing.

Olson came out of retirement to enter the Shootout after he heard last year’s winner My Way would be unable to compete after a crash on the St. Lawrence River during the 1,000 Island Poker Run.

Olson called upon Gary Teague of GT Performance to get the boat ready in less than a week and haul it 30 non-stop hours from Lake Havasu, Ariz., to Lake of the Ozarks.
