A beloved family-owned resort at Lake of the Ozarks is getting a new lease on life.

For more than 29 years, Lori and Alan Piedt put their hearts and souls into making the Holiday Shores Resort in Osage Beach a place where generations of families could come to create wonderful lifelong memories. Many of the Piedts’ clients came back to the resort year after year to enjoy their special vacation at the Lake of the Ozarks.

The Florida developers came in at a higher bid, but knowing the Griswolds would keep the resort intact and not tear it down to build condos or an entertainment complex, the Piedts sold the property to them. 

When Lynn first talked to Peg about buying the resort, she wasn’t too keen on the idea. “But when we went to see it, I was so impressed with everything and how the Piedts obviously cared about the resort. You just don’t see too many resort properties at the Lake that are so well-kept – and this was important to us as potential buyers,” Lynn said. That sparked a vision for the next chapter in this resort’s story. 

Peg and Lynn Griswold are the owners of the highly successful Medical Transportation Management Inc., (MTM) and are serial philanthropists. Lynn is a founding member of the Community Foundation of the Lake which helps to address the needs of local nonprofits, and it’s clear that the couple genuinely care about the Lake community. “We try to help out our community where we see the need,” explains Lynn. Giving back is in the Griswolds’ DNA.

The Griswolds saw the family resort had potential both as a unique Lake living experience and an investment opportunity. The villas could be sold individually, and buyers could either take advantage of Holiday Shores’ ideal lakefront location full-time, or part-time with a turnkey vacation rentals program. With a new vision for the resort and a new name, “The Villas at Holiday Shores,” the Griswolds with the help of the Carlock Crew EXP—lifelong Lake residents and real estate team Spencer and Rogie Carlock—have launched their new vision.
