CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo. — A bond has been set for the Camdenton man arrested in connection to an Osage Beach police officer's death last month.

Christopher Wehmeyer, who is charged with the class A felony of aggravated fleeing and the class A felony of second degree murder, appeared at his bond hearing Monday, Sept. 23. He was being held on a no bond warrant prior to the hearing.

He is charged for events related to the death of Officer Phylicia Carson, who died in the line of duty on Aug. 31, 2024.

Wehmeyer's surety bond was set at $100,000, with the following conditions:

- Supervision by MOCAM and fitted with GPS tracking monitor prior to release at defendant's expense

- Shall appear in court at all settings, submit to orders, not commit any new offense, and not tamper with the case or have anyone do so on his behalf

- Placed on house arrest, with exceptions for going to court, attorney's office, or for medical treatment

- Shall not consume or possess alcohol or any controlled substances, and submit to testing at any time requested by pre-trial release supervisor

- Shall not possess any weapons, operate any motor vehicle, and shall comply with a 5 p.m. to 7 a.m. curfew

According to a press release from the Camden County prosecuting office, this bond was set over the objection by Prosecuting Attorney Richelle Grosvenor. She argued that Wehmeyer "is a flight risk and a danger to the community."

A preliminary hearing for the case is set on Oct. 25 at 9 a.m.
