LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. — Docking a boat means going easy on the throttle, a lesson one boater learned the hard way last weekend.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 43-year-old Stephanie Guynn, of St. Louis, was docking a 24-foot 2016 Hurricane Sundeck at around 2:40 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 4, when she pushed the throttle forward a little too hard. The boat ran through the front of the dock slip and ramped up onto the dock walkway, hitting a nearby 2019 Cobalt boat as well.
The Hurricane had moderate damage, and the Cobalt had minor damage. The Hurricane was towed from the scene by Lake Tow, and no injuries were reported for the incident.
