LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. — The skyline in Osage Beach is about to change: crews on Thursday began assembling the roller coaster rides at The Oasis at Lakeport, the new waterfront amusement park slated to open in 2025.
Osage Beach Mayor Michael Harmison was on-site, Thursday, taking photos and talking to members of the construction project. He shared his photos on Facebook and with LakeExpo.
Harmison also got the opportunity to detonate the first blast for the excavation of a major parking garage planned to be built on-site. The six-story garage will hold approximately 800 vehicles and will be the first of its kind in the Lake area. Two stories will be below-ground, with four stories above.

According to Harmison, a total of 147 shipping containers would be arriving with equipment for the project, coming from all over the world.
Those containers have been arriving strategically as crews assemble the park; they only have a short window of time to unload the containers before they're hauled off the site.
At a groundbreaking event for the project in May, Developer Jeff Tegethoff told gathered crowds that the project — once fully completed — is expected to bring $100 million in new annual revenue, with 600,000 visitors annually.
