Lake of the Ozarks boasts beautiful homes, but the hilly terrain creates some challenges: most homes need a retaining wall (or a few), and on the lakefront, more often than not homeowners will be walking downhill to get to the water. Local business Lakeland Solutions helps overcome the challenges of living at the Lake, from masonry work to concrete paths, to maintenance and repairs.

Brothers-in-law Jordan Ryder and Vitaliy Zakharov had wanted to start a business for a while, and last year was finally the right time and place. Both men have backgrounds in concrete and decking, and they love doing unique jobs, like curving cart paths or outdoor brick ovens. So in February 2022, they founded Lakeland Solutions, and the family-owned company has been busy ever since.

They found a quick niche in what is becoming a "must-have" for many Lake of the Ozarks homeowners: cart paths, connecting the home to the dock.

The Lakeland Solutions crew is able to do a project start to finish - without subbing in other professionals. And especially because of the custom nature of the work, Jordan and Vitaliy prioritize customer communication to make sure the finished product is exactly what the customer hoped for.

About The Owners

Jordan grew up as a missionary kid in Papua New Guinea, but came to the Lake from Pittsburg, Pa. There, he gained experience in custom concrete work. His family moved to Lake of the Ozarks in 2016, and he carried with him his passion for quality work, open communication, and showing up on time for a job.

“I remember telling my wife even then that if I ever started a business, I would do it at the Lake,” said Jordan, who knew the Lake of the Ozarks area thanks to the Ethnos360 missionary training school located outside of Camdenton. “During breaks from school (Ethnos360), it was so easy for me to go out and find a job. I come from a blue collar city where it’s very competitive, but here it’s very different. Just by doing the basic things, I could be successful in my own business.”

Vitaliy moved to the U.S. from Ukraine when he was seven, and his family had been living in Austin, Texas. But that changed on the 4th of July in 2021. While vacationing at Lake of the Ozarks with Jordan's family, Vitaliy's Austin home flooded. He watched it happen, on a security camera, in real-time.

“The situation pushed us out of Austin to here,” Vitaliy said. They had already been thinking about leaving the Austin area, but it was easy to land on the Lake and be closer to family after the flood. “Now we’re local, and we want to get out into the community more,” he said.

Word of mouth is a badge of honor for this local team. Even though the custom work may vary, their craftsmanship shines through each project.

“We don’t just stand around,” Ryder said. “We know what we’re doing. Through the whole process, we’ll do our best to communicate nonstop with the customer.”

A Tough Job, Well-Done

At the LakeExpo office, Lakeland Solutions was hired to bail us out of a unique situation.

Our crew's Lake view is excellent, thanks to the steep hill the office is built on, but the curb that keeps drivers from going off the edge of the parking lot was starting to collapse. Water runoff had eroded the ground underneath the curb, which had never been anchored properly in the first place, so it was beginning to pull away and slide down the cliff.

Enter the professionals.

Whether you're seeking a complete addition, new curb appeal, or simple restoration for what’s currently there, Lakeland Solutions are the experts. These hard-working men will get the job done, and with what every homeowner hopes they would get: clear communication, efficient timing, and excellent pricing.
