JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – State Representative Jeff Vernetti is celebrating major momentum in the Missouri House, where two of his sponsored bills passed with overwhelming support and are now before the Senate.

The first, HCS HB 105, passed unanimously with a 152-0 vote. It authorizes the Governor to transfer specific state-owned properties to local entities, including the Lee C. Fine Airport, which would be conveyed to the City of Osage Beach.

“This is significant for the City of Osage Beach and the entire Lake of the Ozarks community,” said Vernetti, R-Camdenton. “The Lee C. Fine Airport is the most viable site for a commercial airport at the Lake of the Ozarks and this land conveyance is a necessary step to advance the prospects of that in the future. This is a huge win for our community.”

The bill also includes property transfers in Jackson and Webster counties to the State Highways and Transportation Commission, with oversight from the Office of Administration and final legal approval from the Attorney General.

Vernetti also helped push through HCS for HBs 44 & 426, which passed 147-1. The bill doubles the exemption for private retirement income and raises the income thresholds to qualify, offering long-term tax relief for Missouri retirees starting in 2026.

“These legislative victories are a testament to our commitment to responsible governance, economic relief for retirees, and strengthening local communities,” Vernetti said. “I am honored to see my bills receive overwhelming bipartisan support, and I look forward to working with my colleagues in the Senate to ensure they become law.”

With the passage of these bills in the House, attention now shifts to the Senate, where these measures will be considered for final approval.

Vernetti represents District 123 in Camden County and was elected in 2024. For more information, please contact Rep. Vernetti at 573-751-1119 or by email at Jeff.Vernetti@house.mo.gov.
