WELDON SPRING, Mo. — A new public poll released by ARW Strategies shows Missouri Governor candidate Bill Eigel surging into second place over Jay Ashcroft.

The poll has Mike Kehoe at 23.6%, Bill Eigel at 19.2%, Jay Ashcroft at 18.9%, and 38.3% undecided.

This comes at the same time that the media outlet, Missouri Independent, uncovered Mike Kehoe’s American Dream PAC internal polling which shows Eigel at 16%.

"All of this confirms what we have known the entire time, Eigel is surging and Ashcroft is fading," the Eigel campaign said in a press release about the latest polling data.

"Ashcroft’s ballot share is fading faster than Joe Biden’s brain," Eigel added.

The Eigel campaign attributes his rise in polling to a ramped-up advertising campaign. "After conserving his resources, Eigel is now rising because of advertising campaigns that began statewide last week," the campaign said.

The Missouri Governor race will likely be decided at the August 6 primary ballot, when one of the three frontrunner Republican candidates — Eigel, Ashcroft, or Kehoe — receives the Republican nomination.
