LAURIE, Mo. — A traveling exhibit exploring the history, science, and religious significance of the Shroud of Turin is coming to the National Shrine of Mary, Mother of the Church, in Laurie this month.

“Who is the Man of the Shroud?” will feature a replica of the Shroud of Turin, along with interpretive panels examining the cloth’s documented history, physical characteristics, scientific study, and connections to Gospel accounts of the Passion and burial of Jesus.

The exhibit, being displayed Nov. 5-15, is presented by Shroud Exhibitors of Central Missouri in partnership with Othonia, Inc. Visitors will also be able to scan QR codes for an audio guide, quick facts, and additional educational resources.

“We are truly excited to welcome the Shroud of Turin exhibit to the National Shrine of Mary, Mother of the Church,” said Andrew Wright, executive director of the Shrine. “The Shroud invites us to reflect on Christ’s suffering and sacrifice, the depth of His love for humanity, and the hope of His Resurrection.”

The exhibit is intended for visitors of all ages and faith backgrounds and will be available free of charge, with donations encouraged to support Shroud Exhibitors of Central Missouri.

The National Shrine of Mary, Mother of the Church is located at 176 Marian Drive in Laurie. The Shrine, also known as the Mothers’ Shrine, serves as a place for prayer, pilgrimage, and reflection and includes the Mothers’ Wall of Life and a large sculpture of Mary.
