MACKS CREEK, Mo. — Firefighters battled dry, windy conditions on Tuesday when fire ravaged a barn and pasture.

According to Southwest Fire Protection District Deputy Chief/Fire Marshal Chris Bachman, the district responded to the barn fire at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 19 on Mill School Road, off Highway 73 in Macks Creek.

It took dozens of firefighters approximately two hours to bring the fire under control. Dry conditions and high winds put two other structures in immediate danger, but the fire was contained to the barn and one acre of pasture.

Southwest Fire was assisted by Mid-County, Sunrise Beach, Northwest, Tunis, Camdenton and Osage Beach Fire Protection Districts, along with Camden County Ambulance. In total, five engines, six tankers, three staff vehicles, one brush truck, one ambulance and 33 personnel responded to the scene.
