MILLER COUNTY, Mo. – A local man has been charged with murder in the death of 13-year-old Macala Shelton. Steve Henderson of Iberia, Mo., faces one count of first-degree murder, Miller County Sheriff Bill Abbott confirmed this morning.

Abbott refused to elaborate about additional charges and would not release the bond amount, except to say that a press conference would be held today at 3 p.m.
Henderson is incarcerated in the Miller County Jail, according to the booking department.
A second man was also taken into custody, but it is unclear if the arrest and charges relate directly to the murder.
Shelton’s body was discovered at approximately 2 a.m., Sunday, at Ponder’s Hole, a small waterway on farmland located just outside Iberia.

MILLER COUNTY, Mo. -- The body of 13-year-old Macala Shelton, of Iberia, Mo., was found by police at 2 a.m. today at Ponders Hole, outside Iberia, Mo., according to unofficial sources.
Two suspects have been taken into custody by the Miller County Sheriff's Department. The arrests also have not been confirmed officially.
The Miller County Sheriff's Office is conducting an ongoing investigation into the case and notifying family members.

MILLER COUNTY, Mo. -- The Missouri State Highway Patrol lifted the endangered person advisory for 13-year-old Macala Shelton at 2:26 a.m. today. The official notice stated, "Missing juvenile has been located." No official details about Macala Shelton or her condition have been released by the Miller County Sheriff's Department.

The Miller County Sheriff's Office has issued an Endangered Person Advisory for Macala Shelton, 13, of Iberia, Mo.
Shelton was last seen going to bed at 11:45 p.m., last night. Shelton’s grandmother went to wake her at approximately 1 p.m. today and she was not there, according to the sheriff.
Shelton is five-feet, 1-inch tall, weighs 90 pounds, brown hair, brown eyes, last seen wearing black framed glasses, a neon yellow baseball shirt with the number "8" on it and black shorts.
Anyone seeing the missing person, suspect, associate, or vehicle, or anyone having any information related to the endangered missing person should immediately dial 911 to contact the nearest law enforcement agency or call the Miller County Sheriff's Office at 573-369-2341.
