BENTON COUNTY, Mo. — A five-year-old boy nearly drowned in flood waters after falling from a bridge at Rambow Road and Beeman Avenue Thursday morning, north of Truman Lake. 

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the boy was watching the rising water from the bridge when he slipped and was swept under around 9:10 a.m., April 2.

The boy, from Lincoln, Mo., resurfaced about 10 yards from the bridge before being rescued. He had moderate injuries from the incident and was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center.
