OSAGE BEACH, Mo. — Osage Beach Alderman Bob O'Steen's troubles continued this week as the alderman faces the possibility of having his bond revoked after allegedly testing positive for cocaine. O'Steen was arrested in May on drug and firearms charges.

Background

In May, O'Steen was charged with four felonies:

• Possession of a Controlled Substance (two counts -- Class D Felony)

• Delivery of a Controlled Substance (Class C Felony)

• Unlawful Use of a Weapon -- Possession of a Weapon and a Controlled Substance (Class E Felony)

Specifically, authorities alleged that O'Steen was found in possession of cocaine and had been distributing it. They also seized a collection of firearms when O'Steen was initially arrested.

O'Steen has also entered a plea of Not Guilty on those charges.

Bond and Alleged Positive Cocaine Test

Court documents show that on May 14, O'Steen posted $250,000 surety bond. His bond release conditions required he submit to drug testing twice a week.

But Prosecutor Richelle Grosvenor's office says that on or around July 9, O'Steen submitted a drug test that showed the presence of benzoylecgonine, a metabolite of cocaine. As a result, the prosecutor is asking for a revocation of O'Steen's bond.

For his part, O'Steen denied violating his bond terms, saying he had not used cocaine while on bond.

A circuit court judge will hear the case on July 22, to set a trial date and consider the bond revocation request.
