OSAGE BEACH, Mo. — Two new restaurants are coming to Lake of the Ozarks, from the owners of one of the Lake’s top restaurants, 1932 Reserve.

Flatwork is already under way at the site, which co-owner Mark Spears says will be a “multi-concept in one building.” It’s located at the corner of Osage Beach Parkway and Osage Beach Road, next door to the old Osage Beach Elementary school (now an office building) and across from Cannabiz Depot.

Location of new Sushi Restaurant

Spears says the location will have nearly 10,000 square feet under roof, and he explained the plan:

One corner of the building, near Osage Beach Parkway, will have a dedicated entrance to the sushi restaurant, which has already been named “Sushi by R” (with the “R” using the 1932 Reserve crest/logo). He described it as a “small, intimate” space, adding that the partners felt options for sushi in the area were very limited, especially in the winter.

The other main entrance will take guests past a butcher counter and through a small market with locally sourced meat, fresh grab-and-go pastas, seasonings and merchandise. Then guests will step into an open dining room. A brick oven will sit in one corner of the room; guests can see the chef pulling fresh breads out of the oven. An expansive bar will feature handcrafted cocktails and “whimsical wines,” he said. There will be an open-to-close menu featuring smashburgers, sandwiches, pastas, and salads. And in the evening they’ll also feature a Butcher’s Menu, with larger, more chef-driven plates… the kind of thing 1932 Reserve has become known for.

Spears called the restaurant a “casual concept, easily accessible year-round,” with an overflow seating area that will work for large group reservations.

Staff will consist of some new hires as well as moving some staff from 1932 Reserve. The Reserve’s chef Scott Romano will be helping to operate the food side of the business, Spears said.

The partners are enthusiastic about the new restaurant, and they were thrilled about the announcement that Bass Pro Shops would be coming to the Osage Beach Outlet Mall, just a quarter-mile away. “That’s great news for us,” he said.

The owners hope to open both restaurants by summer 2026.
