FORT SMITH, Ark. — The Fort Smith Advertising & Promotions Commission has hired Lake of the Ozarks Convention & Visitor Bureau Director Tim Jacobsen as their new Director.

Jacobsen declined to comment about the news, pending his official resignation to the CVB Board on Tuesday. According to TalkBusiness.net, Jacobsen was one of three finalists for the position, and the commission chair spoke of Jacobsen’s experience at “one of the most popular areas in the country, the Lake of the Ozarks.”

Jacobsen’s base salary at the Fort Smith A&P will be $115,000.

He worked at the Lake CVB for 15 years. The CVB is the marketing/promotions arm of the Lake of the Ozarks Tri-County Lodging Association. It organizes and promotes multiple popular annual events such as the Harbor Hop and Bikefest, publishes vacation guides for mass distribution and runs the tourism website FunLake.com.
