The Lake of the Ozarks is losing a longtime favorite restaurant as Imo's Pizza in Osage Beach announces that it will be closing its doors permanently.
Imo’s Pizza in Osage Beach is a franchise of a larger pizza chain based out of St. Louis, and according to a sign at the front of the Osage Beach store, requirements from the corporate office prompted the closure. The note stated that Imo’s corporate was requiring the franchise to move to a location that would accommodate a drive-up, pick-up window, and they would have had to remodel to Imo’s new specs.
"The cost was more than any business owner would want to spend," stated the note, which was signed "Kevin & Donna."
Difficulty finding workers due to the Covid-19 pandemic was also cited as a reason for the closure. The sign ended with an appreciation for the community at Lake of the Ozarks.
“We truly appreciate the support from all of you and the friendships we made with many of you!!” the note said.
