LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. — What makes living at the Lake of the Ozarks so special? One shining example is the 800 business and community leaders who came together last Wednesday and raised over $182,000 for Citizens Against Domestic Violence.

The 23rd Annual "Back to Prom" brunch was held at the Regalia Hotel & Conference Center Oct. 16, where attendees enjoyed food, entertainment, and auctions to support CADV's efforts.

CADV provides a variety of free and confidential services to local victims of domestic and sexual violence. Thousands of victims and their children have been assisted at the shelter and through outreach services over the years, thanks to the community's generosity.

CADV relies heavily on state and federal grants to operate, but these funds are restricted and have remained flat while costs continue to rise. Unrestricted donations from events like this brunch are vital for CADV to continue offering essential services, such as legal advocacy, transitional housing, and outreach programs.

Executive Director Sheree Keely emphasized the importance of community support, saying that CADV often becomes a lifeline for those with nowhere else to turn.

For those who missed the event but would still like to contribute, donations can be made year-round at www.cadv-voc.org. CADV also has Domestic Violence Shelter Missouri Tax Credits available for any cash donation of $100 or more. For more information call (573) 346-9630.

Mark your calendars for next year’s brunch, "A Sock Hop," on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2025.
